THE CLASSES IN “FUNDAMENTALS OF TOURISM” SUBJECT HAVE A MORE PRACTICAL NATURE

The 3rd year students of the “Tourism” specialty of the Faculty of Urban Economy and Ecology had their class in the “Organization and Management of Hotel and Restaurant Activities” subject in one of Yerevan’s hotels. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the hotel, all departments, service, kitchen, and professional nuances.

“This hotel has been operating for 4 years and is very popular. Our goal was to get acquainted with the activities of any of the hotels that have such a great reputation,” said lecturer Zaruhi Hayryan. 

The students were accompanied by the manager of the hotel’s marketing department who told the students about their training: all employees undergo training once every 3-4 months. The employees were pleasantly surprised by the questions of the students, because they are standards in accordance with international criteria and laws, which hotels of this kind should have. The students were so excited that at the end they asked the lecturer to have their internship in that very hotel; the management and staff of the hotel gave a positive response to this fact.
