NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
The 1st year students of the “Tourism” specialty of the Faculty of Urban Economy and Ecology had their class in “Fundamentals of Tourism” subject in Ejmiatsin. The purpose of the visit was to study Ejmiatsin City’s tourism resources, infrastructure, guest houses, catering establishments, etc.. The students visited the Mother See of Holy Ejmiatsin, Saint Gayane Church and had a practical assignment to make a new tour package.
“We made a tour package, which was both cultural and religious, and we can already offer it to the tourism market. It is intended for the young segment, and we think it was successful,” said lecturer Zaruhi Hayryan.
Ejmiatsin Cathedral attracts tourists till today, and is currently under renovation. Students say that they were enticed by everything.
As students state, practical classes are no less important than theoretical classes, as the lecturer has the opportunity to teach professional nuances that become more vivid on the spot.
Evaluating the pros and cons of the location, as well as the risks and opportunities, the students made their suggestions that would appeal more to young tourists as well.
