RECTOR’S REPORT DURING “BELT AND ROAD” CONSORTIUM HAS BEEN WIDELY ACKNOWLEDGED

On October 8-12 the NUACA Rector Mr. Gagik Galstyan and the Vice-Rector on Financial and Information Affairs Ms. Marine Ghazaryan were in the capital city of the PRC, Beijing for a working visit. The purpose of our delegation’s visit was to attend a solemn opening ceremony of the ”Belt and Road” consortium of architectural universities as a founding member and come up with speeches and reports. Representatives of 43 universities from 19 countries were present at the foundation event of the consortium in the Chinese capital.

Among the numerous reports and speeches, Rector of our University Mr. Gagik Galstyan also delivered his report . He thanked China for the idea of ​​the initiative, highlighting the role of the consortium in the expansion of cooperation among the universities and addressing challenges facing them. “It is evident that this initiative will boost the economic development of neighboring countries, intensify the financial institutions and, in particular, it will sharply increase demand for architectural, construction and technical services. This is a challenge for the educational institutions operating in the field of launching specialists complying with the vision of future urban development and progression of innovative talents”, stated Rector Galstyan. Rector summed up his speech with Confucius quotes, “Education strengthens confidence. Confidence gives hope. Hope brings peace” hopeful that the initiatives outlined in short terms will have their positive impact on the daily lives of the residents in a long-term perspective.

During the working visit, Marine Ghazaryan and Gagik Galstyan conferred with the Armenian Ambassador to China Sergey Manaseryan, who emphasized the importance of our University representatives’ presence in the context of consortium, fostering the Armenian-Chinese ties and implementing joint programs.

At the end of the ceremony, it was decided that the next “Belt and Road” Consortium will be held in Malaysia. It should be noted that the Consortium was established, adhering to the ideology of the Silk Road stating”Peace and Cooperation, Publicity and Integrity, Mutual Learning and Mutual Benefits”, and aims to create a platform for collaboration and identify innovation development mechanisms with university professors and architectural majors.
