OUR STUDENT TOOK THE SECOND PLACE IN THE “RUSSIAN POETS ABOUT ARMENIANS AND ARMENIA” CONTEST

Five students of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia participated in the “Russian Poets about Armenians and Armenia” recitation contest organized by the Government of Moscow (Municipality), during which Mary Melikjanyan, a second-year student of the Faculty of Architecture, took the second place, being one point behind the participant who took the first place, a student of Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography.

The contest consisted of three stages, in each stage the participants were to recite different poems. Among our participants, three students of the Faculty of Architecture passed to the second stage: 2nd year students Mary Melikjanyan, Julieta Galstyan and a 4th year student Elen Kagramanova. In the third stage M. Melikjanyan, impressing everyone with her recitation, took the second place and was awarded a diploma, and the other participants received certificates of participation.

The Head of the Chair of Languages V. Madoyan emphasizes the importance of the fact that the students of our University are able to have new achievements outside the professional field.  “Our student had a very natural performance, due to which she was awarded that prize,” stated V. Madoyan.

“I participated on Mr. Madoyan’s advice. The contest was about Armenia, everyone’s performances were very warm and full of love, especially when we saw how much the young generation was filled with love talking about the Homeland, our commitment grew,” stated Mary Melikjanyan.

“My recitation was very close to my heart, because the poem was about the fire in artist Minas Avetisyan’s studio. It so happened that Mr. Madoyan recommended reciting that very poem, I did not even look for another topic,” concluded Julietta Galstyan.

The National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia received a certificate of appreciation for active participation in the contest.
