NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
Within the framework of the Memorandum signed between the Faculty of Design of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and the Central Bank of Armenia, the Central Bank announced a competition for Sketches of Commemorative Coins. Students and lecturers of the Faculty of Design presented themselves in the competition with great honour, occupying top places.
There were three themes in the Commemorative Coins competition: “100th Anniversary of NUACA Establishment”, “Winemaking in Armenia” and “Yervand Manaryan’s 100th Birthday”. The lecturers and students of our University took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the aforementioned categories.
The solemn awarding ceremony was attended by NUACA Chief of the Staff Hovsep Hoveyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Design Artashes Melikyan, the Head of the eponymous Chair Ashot Baghdasaryan and representatives of the academic staff and students.
Mr. Hoveyan welcomed the guests on behalf of NUACA Rector, noting: “The University always welcomes such collaborations, as students get an opportunity to express their professional abilities on a competitive platform. Besides, we attach great importance to the opinion of our partners in both the public and private sectors, and the results of this competition show that our students, in addition to gaining deep theoretical knowledge, acquire practical and applied knowledge as well, and are able to use it in extracurricular situations. This is also an important assessment for our University, because the important indicators of the quality of the services we provide are the successes achieved by our students. The Central Bank is an important partner for us and I am sure that in the future we will have jointly implemented programmes in other formats as well.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Design Artashes Melikyan welcomed the guests and noted: “The format of this competition was new in its nature, complex in a certain sense and undeniably interesting, and I am very happy with the success achieved by our students and lecturers. To be honest, I am satisfied with the result, of course I also highly value the support of the University management and our academic staff. This is our first cooperation with the Central Bank of Armenia, and I am sure that further on such cooperation will also be fruitful and continuous, and the Faculty is always ready to support students and create appropriate platforms.”
The delegation of the Central Bank was headed by the Chairman of the CBA Artistic Committee Davit Nahapetyan. The latter extended his gratitude one more time for the warm welcome, noting: “We are very happy for the cooperation and value the University as a sectoral education institution. I am sure that even if this competition did not take place, we would definitely create an opportunity for students to bring their ideas to life, as we are impressed with the quality work done. The role of the academic staff is significant, because without their dedicated work, the students would hardly have been able to achieve success in the professional field, which makes us very excited and proves that the cooperation has been successful and will be continuous.”
At the end of the event, the participants were awarded with diplomas and incentive gifts from the Central Bank.
