NUACA STUDENT PRESENTED HER GRADUATION PROJECT AT ARTASHAT MUNICIPALITY

As a result of the cooperation between National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and the RA Urban Development Committee, a conceptual proposal for the modernization of the Square of Artashat city and the organization of public space was developed.

The project and model developed within the framework of the graduation paper were presented during the presentation organized in the Artashat Municipality, which was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Nune Petrosyan, and the Head of the Community Karlen Mkrtchyan.

The Project was implemented by Arevik Nazaryan, a student of the Faculty of Architecture of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, and the micro-regional level combined spatial planning documents developed for the Ararat Marz under the coordination of the Urban Development Committee served as the basis for the Project. In her Project, the student suggested making the square car-free by creating an underground, two-story parking lot, creating an alley with Armenian patterns, and a green area that could be used for organizing various events and exhibitions. The Cultural Center after Charles Aznavour can get a new lease of life through modernization, organization of various clubs and concerts, transforming the inner courtyard into a working environment with Internet access, and turning the roof into a cafe area with a beautiful view. Arevik Nazaryan gifted the Model reflecting these ideas to the Community.

The Head of the Community Karlen Mkrtchyan extended his gratitude for the interesting work, noting that it reflects the ideas of the Management of the Community regarding the modernization of the area. He assured that in the near future they will have the opportunity to make the City more attractive and comfortable for residents and guests.
