The 15th International Conference entitled “Preservation, Support, and Promotion of the Russian Language and Culture Abroad” concluded in Minsk bringing together representatives of the professional community around the Russian language from various countries around the world on one platform. The Conference was organized by the Moscow Government and the Moscow House in Minsk, contributing to the strengthening of international academic and cultural cooperation.
The International Conference was presented by Professor at the Institute for Mass Media of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Chair of the Jury of the Pushkin Competition, and Doctor of Philosophy Marina Koroleva. The lectures of Associate Professor of the Department of World Literature of the Pushkin Institute Sergey Valyugin and the literary quiz held by him also aroused particular interest.
The Conference was attended by around 60 Russian language teachers and heads of Russian language centers from 22 countries. Within the framework of the Program, extensive lectures and practical discussions were held on contemporary linguistics, academic innovations, and topics related to professional development for teachers. In particular, attention was given to methods for reading polycode texts, modern approaches to student motivation, language and brain interaction, effective stress management tools, teacher language individuality, the use of game-based technologies in teaching Russian, as well as digital learning opportunities.
Within the framework of the cultural program, participants visited the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus and the State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition “Griboyedov’s Moscow” was also displayed during the Conference.
At the end of the Program, all participants received certificates, and those who gave presentations received letters of appreciation.
