The Rector of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia Yeghiazar Vardanyan, the Director of the “Academic City” Foundation Armen Simonyan, the lawyer of the Foundation in the Urban Development Committee Tatev Danielyan, participated in the discussion on the Academic City at the invitation of the Chairman of the Committee Armen Ghularyan. Rector Yeghiazar Vardanyan presented the process of engineering-geological and geodetic works performed by the University, because National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia is also involved in the programme to establish the Academic City from the Armenian side as an organization supporting the implementation of the works. The Director of the Foundation provided information on the areas considered for the implementation of the Academic City establishment programme, presenting the project group with the baseline data, the need to provide regulatory and technical documents and the potential issues identified.
The officials of the Committee have expressed their readiness to support the group implementing the project within the scope of the Committee’s authority, and in order to quickly organize the works, they will provide the German design company “gmp Architekten” with the urban development programme documents elaborated with the coordination of the Committee, the information on the legislation regulating the urban development processes and the urban development norms, coordinated by the Committee related to the areas under observation.
It was agreed to transfer to the project group the materials of the zoning project of Ajapnyak Administrative District and the integrated spatial planning documents developed at the micro-regional level for the settlements adjacent to the 17th District, which will be useful for the allocation of various functions in the areas under observation for the Academic City.
All the collected data will be transferred to the German organization involved in the programme for the development of the general plan of the area under observation for the Academic City.
