The contest committee of the “Armenian School Science Festival 2022” event summed up the results of the contest held on March 26 at Yerevan State University. Out of 35 scientific-research projects submitted, the professional jury announced 11 projects as the winners by categories (Mathematics-Programming, Physics-Astronomy, Chemistry and Biology). One of the winning projects in the category of Physics was “Roads of the Future: Asphalt from Plastic Containers”, presented by Hayk Minasyan and Tamara Minasyan (supervisor: Anahit Arustamyan), students of the Physics and Mathematics Class of NUACA High School.
The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan personally handed the awards to the winners of the “Armenian School Science Festival 2022” contest.
In his welcoming speech, the Minister emphasized the paramount importance of increasing interest in science.
“We are hopeful that next year the participation in the “Armenian School Science Festival” will increase, and the geography of the participating schools will expand. The most interesting ideas are generated at school. Ideas resembling science-fiction sometimes come true due to science. I would like to express hope that the seeds visible in the projects of the participants of the Festival can be transformed into scientific activities in the future,” stated the ESCS Minister, emphasizing the State’s position on the role of science as a priority and its actions towards achieving it.
Three projects that received the highest scores from the jury will participate in the online International Science and Engineering Fair to be held in the United States in May. All other winning projects, not participating in the International Science and Engineering Fair, received monetary awards.
