NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

The Inter-University preliminary tournament “NUACA CUP 2023” is over, which was attended by the students of the University and Secondary Vocational Education College having a Chess category.

Taking into account the fact that the tournament was held between boys and girls, a student of the Faculty of Urban Economy and Ecology Mary Tadevosyan was declared the winner of the tournament; a student of the Secondary Vocational Education College Karen Bannahyan took the second place: the latter lost to the winner with only additional indicators. A student of the Faculty of Design Avetis Kasmiyan, and a student of the Faculty of Architecture Vardan Bdoyan shared the third and fourth places, respectively. Among the girls, a student of the Faculty of Architecture Armine Galents took the second prize, and a third-year student of Secondary Vocational Education College Lilit Chobanyan took the third place.

International Woman Grandmaster, Associate Professor Lilit Galoyan noted: “This time, we decided to hold the tournament between a relatively strong group of the University students, so that the winners will be determined in a hot competition. As it turned out, before the last tournament, five students were competing for the title of this year’s winner. The winners and those who play well will be included in our University teams and we are going to participate in the Inter-University tournament on April 18.”

The tournament has started to take on a traditional nature, already for the second year in a row, in spring, the Chess lecturers of NUACA Chair of Physical Education and Sports Lilit Galoyan, Varsenik Gharsylan and Lusine Karapetyan hold the Chess tournament and create a healthy competition within the University.
