NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
The Faculty of Design held a “Memorial Day” dedicated to Professor Armen Bubusyan, his professional activity, and his significant contribution to the establishment of the Faculty of Design. In 2014-2021, Armen Bubushyan was the Head of NUACA Faculty of Design. During the years of his leadership, the Faculty recorded significant success, becoming one of the leading faculties of the University. Mr. Bubushyan is the author of more than 300 completed design projects, 200 works of “Fine-Art”, as well as 10 completed architectural projects of buildings intended for public and personal use. Armen Bubushyan made a great contribution to educational and especially professional fields and educated many generations with his knowledge. He has always kept the name of the University and Faculty high on international platforms, and due to his fruitful work, students have received many awards and certificates.
“Memorial Day” was the professor’s birthday. The event was attended by the management of the University, lecturers, the professor’s students of different years, as well as family members and relatives.
The Dean of the Faculty of Design Artashes Melikyan welcomed everyone and said that the professor was born at a time when there was a great need to establish the foundations of design in Armenia, to ask new questions, and to implement new programs. He did an extraordinary job, especially in the field of graphic design, where many famous brands of the Republic were born.
During the event, the “Devotion” exhibition dedicated to Mr. Bubushyan was opened, which consisted of three parts: the first part was about the time Mr. Bubushyan was in the Faculty, the second part was the exhibition of his own works, and the third part was the exhibition of the students’ works he supervised.
The Head of the Chair of Design Ashot Baghdasaryan noted: “We always remember Mr. Bubushyan trying to keep and increase all the traditions that were introduced in our Faculty during his time. I will not be afraid to say that on this day we also celebrate his birthday, because he was such an active, lively and creative personality that even in his absence, his colleagues, friends, students, and family members cannot help but gather and appreciate Armen Bubushyan. It is no coincidence that the works are displayed in this corridor, designed by him and, why not, built by his own hands, where every detail was chosen by him personally, with professional meticulousness and great responsibility. He knew that this corridor would one day become an exhibition hall where students’ and lecturers’ works would be regularly displayed, and he thought that it should be the best, which it is.”
In memory of Mr. Bubushyan, a number of lecturers who were once Armen Bubushyan’s students also delivered speeches.
