According to the Decision N2 of the Board of Trustees Session of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Doctor of Sciences (Physics), Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Manuk Barseghyan has been appointed as NUACA Acting Rector.
In 1995-1997, Manuk Barseghyan received his education at the “Balaton” College in Gyumri. In 1997-2002, he studied at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute named after M. Nalbandyan, and in 2002-2005 he was a PhD student at YSU Faculty of Physics. In 2006, he was awarded with the Degree of Doctor of Physics, and in 2019 with the Degree of Doctor of Sciences (Physics).
Mr. Barseghyan has been working at the University since 2006. His field of scientific activity mainly includes Physics of Nanostructures and Material Science. He began his professional activity by lecturing at the Chair of Physics of Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute named after M. Nalbandyan. He also lectured at YSUAC Chair of Physics and Electrical Engineering. Since 2007, he has been carrying out scientific activities in YSU Research Laboratory of Solid State Physics. He worked as a visiting researcher both at the University of Antioquia in Medellin and at the University of Manitoba in Canada. He worked as a Chief Specialist at NUACA Division of Educational Programmes Development. From January 2020 to September 2020, he was the Head of NUACA Scientific Policy Department, from 2020 to present, he is the Head of the “Maintenance and Development of the Research Laboratory of Construction Problems Modelling” program, and from 2020 to March 24, 2024, he held the position of NUACA Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs.
He has authored 78 scientific articles, 59 of which were published in international periodicals with high impact factor, 12 in the proceedings of international scientific conferences, and 7 in local periodicals.
Manuk Barseghyan has received a number of awards, including the RA Presidential Award in 2013 for Breakthrough discovery or significant contribution to the area of Physics. In different years (2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021) he was recognized as the winner of the “Effective Researcher” competition by the Higher Education and Science Committee.
