LECTURER OF THE CHAIR OF DRAWING, PAINTING AND SCULPTURE HAYK TOKMAJYAN WAS AWARDED WITH THE “MOVSES KHORENATSI” MEDAL

According to the decrees of the President of the Republic of Armenia, a group of people were awarded with high state awards for their contributions and effective activities in various fields. Among them is Hayk Tokmajyan, a lecturer at NUACA Chair of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, a member of the Artists’ Union of Armenia, and a sculptor. During the awarding ceremony held at the Residence of the President, President Vahagn Khachaturyan awarded Hayk Tokmajyan with the “Movses Khorenatsi” Medal, which is awarded for outstanding achievements in the fields of culture, art, literature, education, social sciences and sports.

As the RA President noted, there are many people in various fields who deserve special attention from the state: “The state has certain responsibilities to fulfill, and one of these responsibilities is to reward worthy citizens and to present them to the public in a special way, which can cause excitement in the public”, emphasized Mr. Khachaturyan.

            Artist and sculptor Hayk Tokmajyan is engaged in a wide range of activities, participating in many international symposia and exhibitions, and also carrying out valuable scientific-research activities. In 2005, he received an encouragement award at the “Republic Competition for Komitas Bust”. In the same year, Mr. Tokmajyan’s solo exhibition was held in Yerevan. In 1994-2000, the prominent artist and beloved lecturer authored the portrait sculptures of more than 30 heroes of the Artsakh Liberation War for the Museum of Glory of Armenian Freedom Fighters.

            We congratulate Hayk Tokmajyan for the well-deserved award, wishing him new achievements and success.
