NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

“This is Art, not XZBZ¹ ” without holding inside his admiration, Gagik Hovhannisyan, the Head of the Chair of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, shared the opinion of his colleague Armen Bubushyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Design.

“XZBZ”, the reason for today’s artistic mess at the University, was the solo exhibition of Nonna Hovhannisyan, a 4th year student of NUACA Faculty of Design and Vice-President of the Student Council. The exhibition is unique in its type and, as Nonna confessed, question evoking.

“Why XZBZ and why so many old men?” Nonna answered her own questions sincerely, “XZBZ because it is unique and not so serious to be criticized and get negative feedback, and old men because I simply love them so much.”

From self-portrait to distinguished actors, architects, writers, film directors and lecturers. Most of the presented more than 60 works are old men’s features. The author says that she is constantly trying to find an expressive look and will draw till she finds it.

The Rector Yeghiazar Vardanyan, who was present at the opening of the exhibition, congratulated Nonna Hovhannisyan, mentioning that our University performs not only educational functions, but also surrounds students with a creative environment. Thus, such events should be traditional and continuous.

It is possible to admire the exhibition opened in the Studio on the 3rd floor (room 2341) until February 19.
