For the first time NUACA will represent armenia at the international conference

In the modern world the need of using earth as a traditional construction material and the importance of earthen structures’ preservation increase year-by-year. Since 1970s and every 4 years international conferences are organized in various countries dedicated to the preservation and development of earthen legacy.

In 2015 NUACA and Leon National High School of Architecture jointly organized a conference on ”Earthware National Heritage: Earth as a Material for the Territorial Development of Armenia” attended by Leon and Grenoble High Schools of Architecture, Milan Polytechnic, Ama’co, AE&CC and GRAterre think tanks, the department representatives of French Ministry of Culture on Historical and Cultural Heritage Preservation and the Embassy of France in Armenia.

For the very first time our University will attend the international conference dedicated to earthen constructions on 10-15 July, 2016 in Leon officially invited by the Municipality of Leon. In the international conference that hosts 800 participants from all 80 countries Armenia will be represented by the NUACA Provost Gagik Galstyan and Head of Erebuni Historical-archaeological Museum Gagik Gyurjyan.

The lecturer of Armenian origin at Leon National High School of Architecture Syuzan Monno informed that our University will be represented in the conference with 3 scientific articles and 2 posters. The authors of the articles NUACA Vice-rector on Financial Affairs Marina Ghazaryan, temporary acting head of Theory of Architecture, Restoration of Historical and Architectural Heritage, Fine Arts and History Chair Emma Harutyunyan and candidate of Architecture, professor Lyuba Kirakosyan will also attend the conference.

As Syuzan Monno mentioned during our conversation our University delegates will deliver speeches dedicated to the Armenian earthen architectural heritage and the trends of their development.
