The course lectures of “Architectural Design Basics” and “History of Armenian Architecture” planed by the first year program of the Faculty of Architecture were hold in the area of historical and architectural monuments of Aragatsotn region, Saghmosavank, Hovhanavank, Mughni Monastery, as well as Ashtarak Karmravor and Tsiranavor churches on September 26.
In the area of monuments, profesors held lectures introducing students to the stages of Armenian medieval architecture: early medieval (Karmravor and Tsiranavor churches, 6-7th centuries), developed medieval monastic complexes: Saghmosavank, Hovhanavank (13th century) and late medieval monumental complex of Mughni (17th century). Students got acquainted with the architectural, constructive and artistic features of Armenian medieval religious buildings. Some of the students also did sketches.
