NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

Recently, a conference of PhD students and applicants has been held in Aghveran, which was attended by Rector Yeghiazar Vardanyan, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Manuk Barseghyan, Head of the Science Department Sargis Tovmasyan, Head of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Department Ashot Gevorgyan.

The conference started with the Rector’s welcome speech. Mr. Vardanyan mentioned that this is the second similar conference, which proves the effectiveness of this format. We plan to make changes to academic programmes, make them even more relevant and ready for modern challenges. After the welcome speech, PhD students presented their works.

During the conference, a joint teamwork/game was also carried out, which lay in proposing a scientific topic of applied or dual purpose and justifying it. The winning topic in the game was “Military Resistance of Structures in the RA Border Residences, Their Coordination, Classification and Solution of Architectural Problems Using Tuff Fiber Concrete”. The team included Arsen Abrahamyan (scientific supervisor: A. Tovmasyan), Anna Vardanyan (scientific supervisor: D. Kertmenjyan), Nelly Muradyan (scientific supervisor: A. Arzumanyan), Artyom Grigoryan (scientific supervisor: M. Badalyan), Karen Movsisyan (scientific supervisor: A. Petrosyan), and the team leaders were Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Armen Shatvoryan and PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Chair of Production of Construction Materials, Items and Structures Avetik Arzumanyan.

 They exchanged opinions and summarized the results of the workshop at the end of the conference.
