NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

On the initiative of the President of the Association of Caricaturists of Armenia, lecturer at the Chair of Design A. Torosyan, National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia hosted a caricature master class held by the Egyptian caricaturist Ahmed Geasan Roza el Yosef. The latter is a member of “Sabah El-Kheir” magazine and Journalists’ Union and is an illustrator of children’s books.

The Dean of the Faculty of Design Artashes Melikyan also attended the meeting. Attaching importance to such initiatives, Mr. Melikyan stated: “Dear students and guests, it is a pleasure to welcome you here and be present at this important event. Caricature is quite a complex direction in the field of design, and if at first glance it is interesting and funny, in fact, psychological and professional skills are required to be able to convey an important idea of ​​a social nature through humour, etc. I hope that in the future the master classes will be continuous, including specialists from different countries. I would like to welcome the honourary guest once again, wishing him a professionally meaningful process.”

 During the master class, Mr. Yosef presented his drawings, expressed on paper imaginary realities and ideas about the character. Creating a person in caricature is like creating a character, and creating that character requires a unique skill.
