“Abo was a man about whom there are so much things to tell that we do not know what to tell actually … An imposing person, highly respected …”
Despite the excitement that thrilled both friends and students, they were talking about their talented camaraderie, the lecturer, the gifted architect, and the artist, and shared stories about the most important and colorful episodes of his life. Today is the 70th anniversary of the painter, architect, designer Albert Sokhikyan. At the age of 69, he managed to leave a huge legacy in the form of several paitings and a Sokhikyan-style educated generation.
His adherent students were the initiators of Albert Sokhikyan’s birthday exhibition, where each photo was focused on the master’s life, the days spent at our University, the experiences shared with the students.
Rector Gagik Galstyan and Albert Sokhikyan’s children, colleagues and friends- all were present at the exhibition. Each one tried to describe the colors of Sokhikyan character – the friend, distinguished painter and architect.
Albert Sokhikyan’s love for his students was predominant in all memories. “His day was starting with a cup of coffee and warm greetings exchanged with students …”, and this exhibition is the greatest gift and acknowledgment toward Albert Sokhikyan, who lives forever.
