A WORKSHOP DEDICATED TO THE DISCUSSION OF PROJECTS ON THE MAINTENANCE AND EXPLOITATION OF BUILDINGS

Yesterday a workshop-discussion organized by the Urban Development Committee and UNDP took place in the UN Conference Hall. The goal was to discuss and clarify the results of the designs of multi-apartment and public buildings passports, as well as drafting and maintenance of multi-apartment buildings.

Rector of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia Gagik Galstyan, Vice-Rector for Financial-Economic and Information Affairs Marina Ghazaryan and Dean of Construction Faculty Davit Grigoryan also present at the workshop.

Armen Ghularyan, acting Chairman of the Urban Development Committee, presenting issues related to the maintenance and modernization of public and multi-apartment buildings, as well as improving the reliability of multi-apartment buildings, noted that systematic investigations of technical condition and vulnerability of buildings and structures have not been implemented for many years and the process has been situational.

The Urban Development Committee applied to the UN Development Program in February 2018 with a request to consider the possibility of supporting some work. As a result, the UNDP Armenia has expressed readiness to address the project “Reducing the Risk of Energy Efficient Modernization of Buildings” under the UNDP- Within the framework of the Green Climate Fund project, it is important to address the issue of drafting a model program of building a computerized information system for public and multi-apartment buildings.

From November 2018 contractors involved in a competitive manner by UNDP have done that works. The draft passport forms were developed by the consortium of the “Urban” Foundation and the “ArmProject” OJSC, and the Draft Rules by the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.
