NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

As part of the 17th activity of the “Open Studio” series master classes were organized at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia on February 20, 21 and 23.

During the “Sketching Yerevan” workshop by the artists Ararat Minasyan and Zakar Demirchyan the main approaches and basic principles of city sketches and book illustration were discussed, as well as the techniques and materials for the sketches were revealed.

Ararat Minasyan and Zakar Demirchyan explained to students the details of Yerevan’s expression through the sketches. With their direct participation and guidance, the students  made the sketches of the corners of Yerevan city proposed by the artists.

At the end of the training, the analysis of their works  and the summary of skills acquired took place.

It should be noted that the author of the “Open Studio” project taking place since 2016 is Lilit Umedyan, the head of the NUACA Chair of Design. The outdoors, extracurricular initiative also includes meetings, seminars, presentations, master classes and open lectures.
