Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the RA Urban, Technical and Fire Safety Inspection Body and the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia

On may 31, 2021, Head of RA Urban, Technical and Fire Safety Inspection Body (UTFSIB) Gegham Shakhbazyan and Rector of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia Yeghiazar Vardanyan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of RA Urban, Technical and Fire Safety Inspection Body (UTFSIB) Ashot Shahbazyan, Head of the Department for Supervision of Urban Development Activities of the Inspection Body Artashes Sargsyan, Chief of the Staff of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia Hovsep Hoveyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Garnik Stepanyan, Vice-Rector for International Relations Vardges Yedoyan, and Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Manuk Barseghyan.

Prior to the official signing ceremony, the Head of the RA Urban, Technical and Fire Safety Inspection Body (UTFSIB) G. Shakhbazyan toured the educational-scientific-research laboratories on Soil Mechanics, Building Constructions, Construction Materials and Products of the University and got acquainted with the possibilities of their joint use.

At the memorandum signing ceremony, the Head of UTFSIB G. Shakhbazyan, expressing satisfaction with the cooperation launched between the state body and the educational institution, noted that building bridges of cooperation with educational institutions had always been a priority for him.

“The university must cooperate with the state, and the state must definitely support the development of the university. Walking around the University laboratories, I made sure that there is a high level of scientific potential here. The technical equipment of the laboratories makes it possible to apply the scientific achievements in practice. The reality of the initiated cooperation has had positive feedback from the Inspection Body, because we really need specialists. I hope that as a result of the cooperation, the students will become interested in the state system and will find their place there,” said the IB Head G. Shakhbazyan

In his turn, the University Rector Y. Vardanyan thanked the IB for the initiative of cooperation, mentioning that as a result of the cooperation not only the University and the Inspection Body will benefit, but first of all the beneficiaries – the students. They will have the opportunity to be engaged in examinations and to perform practical work. According to the Rector, the opportunities for perspective cooperation are great in general.

It should be noted that within the framework of the Memorandum, the University and the State Structure will implement innovative, grant programs in a number of directions of professional-organizational nature. Joint scientific conferences, seminars, consultations, as well as exchange of professional literature, methodological guides, bulletins, periodicals and other materials will be organized. UTFSIB and NUACA will form joint working groups to discuss and resolve issues of

mutual interest.

The students of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia will undergo academic, practical, pre-diploma and scientific-practical internships in the Inspection Body.

The cooperation fixed in the document will contribute to the improvement of experience and skills, the practical application of the University’s scientific potential and theoretical knowledge, and the replenishment of the labor market with quality staff.
