NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

Today the international conference “Caves as Natural and Cultural Monuments” dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Armenian Speleological Center summed up its work at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.

The location chosen for the closing ceremony was not accidental. As rector Gagik Galstyan noted in his speech, in fact, the primitive man himself was his architect and decided how to make the cave comfortable for living. Expressing gratitude to the participants of the conference, the rector highlighted the research done by Italian scientist Robert Bixio in Western Armenia. Moreover, by the decision of the Scientific Council of the University, Robert Bixio was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of the University.

All conference materials will be put together in a single scientific work in the form of a book that will be distributed to all conference participants. The Head of the Department of Geoecology and Biosafety, Chairman of the Armenian Speleological Center, Samvel Shahinyan informed about it in his final speech.

Let us remind that the international conference “Caves as Natural and Cultural Monuments” lunched on September 11 at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, and then continued at our University.
