NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
Nowadays the active participation of information technologies in all areas of life support and the economy is in demand around the world. It should be noted that the assessment of progress and achievements in any field, depends on the degree of investment of information technologies.
Urban planning is no exception. The introduction of a building information modeling system is very significant and acceptable in urban planning, which will lead to serious reforms and interaction with all the functions of this sphere, starting with design work, expertise, construction and ending with the operation of finished buildings.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an innovative technology that is a step towards compliance with digitization and development in this area. Without the introduction of this system it is already impossible to imagine the problems of efficient, quality and timely performance of the above functions.
It is already widespread throughout the world. Our country also does not remain aloof from the introduction of this innovation, trying to make its first steps. Characteristic and worthy is the fact that the leader of this global process is our university.
The dissertation of Ms. Ghazaryan, whose theme was the implementation of this particular system, after an excellent preliminary defense, at the initiative of the chairman of the Urban Planning Committee, was submitted for discussion by the Committee. It is worth noting that active discussions between the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and the Urban Planning Committee took place on construction pricing issues, and it was during these discussions that Committee representatives learned that serious steps are being taken at our university to introduce the BIM system.
The roadmap on the need to introduce, apply and disseminate the aforementioned BIM system in the RA Urban Development Committee, detailed by M. Gazaryan, has been universally approved. As a result, it was proposed to form a joint working group with representatives of the Urban Planning Committee of the Republic of Armenia and our university, involving specialists in this field as well, and to develop a BIM program for receiving and introducing technologies to coordinate work.
