NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

Cute and active, like the residents of Gyumri, the fountains were silent from the time of the 1988 disaster. Just four years ago, the territory of the “Druzhba” fountain, which was commissioned, was once the most beloved part of the city, today it is the most inconsolable.

On the Day of RA citizen by the initiative of “Arthur Tarkhanyan” Foundation and Hay radio station and with the participation of students from the Student Council of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Gyumi Branch, the territory, called “Fantanner of Gyumri” was cleared of garbage that had accumulated over the years. Many residents of the city also took part in the event.

The students of our university, as the bearers and custodians of the Armenian historical and cultural heritage, could not stand aside the sad fate of the famous “Fountains”. Moreover, the initiators of the event are convinced that in the near future a program for the restoration of the Fountains of Gyumri will be implemented in order to restore their proud appearance.
