Every year thousands of people are diagnosed with leukaemia and other malignant blood diseases, and according to current data, more than 6,000 patients in the world need a compatible donor. Only 20 to 30 percent of them can find a relative donor, and the remaining 70 to 75 percent need donation of donor. And since thousands of patients die because they do not have compatible donors, the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry organizes a donor recruitment campaign each year.

It should be reminded that in order to become a donor it is necessary to be 18-50 years old, to hand over 3 ml of blood and complete a questionnaire. The donor registration is a harmless process and lasts a few minutes, it is completely voluntary and does not pursue financial gain.

During donor registration, it is important to remember that perhaps you are the only one in the world to be compatible with the patient and give her the hope of living.
