University with a 100-Year History
The former alumni of our university, with their success and achievements, always keep high on both the university and our country’s name and honor. Architect Aram Alachajyan, who lives and works in the United States since the 1970s, is among them.
Today, Aram Alachajyan was at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. He had come to his university to tell about his past, the difficulties, the trials he overcame, and the current activities. Mkrtich Minasyan, head of the Armenian Union of Architects, Sargis Tovmasyan, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Karen Rashidyants, chairman of architectural design and design of architectural environment, lecturers and students came to a meeting with a former graduate.
Being born and studied in Yerevan, Aram Alachajyan moved to the United States, first to Philadelphia, and then to Los Angeles with search of work and professional advancement.
Passing through a long way, today Aram is entrusted with designing works of all structures initiated by the Armenian community. He is the author of many churches and buildings of various significance. Aram presented students the current work projects, including the Armenian-American Museum.
