NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

On August 20-27, the European cave experts forum was held in Ebenzi, Austria, where Samvel Shahinyan, the head of the chair of hydroelectric power plant at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, also participated in the event.

At the exhibition of paintings organized within the framework of the Forum, S. Shahinyan made a report of “The peculiarities of the occurrence and development of carcinogenic caves in the southern and southeastern parts of Armenia” on the basis of collected 20 posters. The report was accepted with great enthusiasm, and there were also proposals to organize a joint scientific expedition.

During the opening ceremony of the general assembly of the European cave experts forum, among other important issues, the membership issue of the speleological center of Armenia was also discussed at the European cave experts forum. By the vote of all nine members of the general assembly, Armenia became a full member of the Forum. Samvel Shahinyan was confirmed deputy and the archeologist, author of large-scale discoveries  B. Gasparyan confirmed as a substitute member from Armenia.

It is noteworthy that in 2019, George Wan, President of the World Cave Experts as well as 5 members of the general assembly of the cave forum wished to take part in the scientific conference dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Armenian speleological center.
