NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

NUACA High School participated in the annual AESA Science Olympiad. Schoolchildren of 11Ph class of the High School Davit Vardanyan, Hayk Hyusisyan and Lusine Movsisyan participated in the Olympiad.

The team decided to make a cheaper and lighter bulletproof vest insert, covered with basalt fibers and epoxy resin. With the help of the University laboratories, many experiments were implemented to understand in what ratio the materials should be used. Several insert samples were prepared, various experiments were implemented on them, and the compressive strength (330 MPa) was measured.

Summarizing the Olympiad, the school team took first place in the “Engineering” category.
