On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the CIS Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers, NUACA employees participated in the 5th Congress of the CIS Road Workers and the 45th session of the Public Council of the CIS basic organization in Moscow from December 8 to 9. More than 400 representatives of the transport sector of the CIS countries participated in the events, including leaders and representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the CIS Transport Coordinating Council, the International Federation of Trade Unions of Transport and Road Workers, the International Transport Academy, transport ministries and administrations, foreign embassies in the CIS, associated member organizations of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers, as well as experts from Syria, the USA, Slovakia, and Iran. The topic of the international scientific-practical conference was “The State, Problems and Development Prospects of the CIS Automobile Roads”. The participants of the event discussed issues aimed at improving the management system, normative bases regulating the road sector, training and qualification of personnel, the issues of using the latest technologies in the field of road construction, as well as repair and exploitation of local and international automobile roads.
The delegation of Armenia included NUACA Chief of the Staff Hovsep Hoveyan and Advisor to the Rector Suren Hovsepyan. Within the framework of the event, the topic “Methods of Evaluation of Design Solutions of Transport Interchanges” was presented, detailing the purpose, relevance and main objectives of the research.
The congress touched upon the current situation of the national automobile networks of the CIS countries, their problems and prospects for development, issues related to the development of international transport corridors, the introduction of new technologies, the use of machines and mechanisms, as well as transport logistics centers. The conditions for the most effective and full use of the productive and scientific-technical potential of the road networks of the member-states of the Commonwealth of Nations were also discussed.
As a result of the meetings and discussions, resolutions and a number of documents were presented and signed by the delegates of the Congress and members of the conference aimed at improving the activities of the members of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers and the Public Council of the CIS basic organization, as well as coordination of work within the states aimed at overcoming common issues and solving urgent problems of the road industry.
