“Development of a flexible, innovative and practical framework for Work-based Learning in higher education of Armenia and Russia” (FlexWBL Erasmus+)

FlexWBL project aims to create a platform for the implementation of a work- based learning (WBL) framework in the national HE systems of Armenia and Russia in order to bridge the gap between skills supply and labor market demands in university-enterprise network cooperation and the wider economic and social environment according to the Yerevan Communique, Paris Communique and EU 2020 strategy’s objectives. Specific Project Objectives are: · To establish the WBL framework in the national Higher Education systems of Armenia and Russia harmonized with EU best practices. · To build capacity and capability within the HE sectors through the development of expertise in designing and implementing courses incorporating WBL. · To launch the WBL website. · To pilot the implementation of WBL framework in Higher Education Institutions of Armenia and Russia. As a result of the project, changes will be made in some of the educational programs of the NUACA, which will increase the share of lessons held in their workplaces, as well as for students working will be assumed the classes planned by the curriculum, or projects, or practical training in their workplaces. The project duration is 36 months.

The Final Workshop of Erasmus+ FlexWBL project entitled “Development of a Flexible, Innovative and Practical Framework for Work-Based Learning in Higher Education of Armenia and Russia” funded by the European Union was held at Liepāja University, Latvia. The workshop was attended by the delegations of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Brusov State University, and Gavar State University from the Republic of Armenia.

The Erasmus+ FlexWBL Project activities were launched in 2019. The aim of the FlexWBL Project is to promote work-based learning (WBL) in the national higher education systems of Armenia.

During the Workshop, the representatives of the University presented the activities carried out within the framework of the FlexWBL Project, the details of the “Project Management” pilot graduate academic programme (in the field of Construction), the relevant changes made to the curriculum, as well as agreements reached with partner organizations.

At the meeting with external auditors, during the Q&A Session the results achieved within the framework of the Project were discussed and the performance indicators of HEIs were assessed.

It is noteworthy that the cooperation with the European partner universities extends beyond the framework of the Project. In February 2023, during a working meeting organized at the Private University College of Education, Diocese Linz, Austria, an offer of cooperation was received by the coordinator university of the Project – Liepāja University, Latvia, as a result of which NUACA was also enrolled in the 2023-2024 Erasmus+ mobility programme of the University. It is envisaged by the programme to exchange 5-7 lecturers from each university and 8 NUACA students during the 2023-2024 academic year. The coordinator university of the Project – the University of Liepāja, Latvia, presenting their cooperation with NUACA as a successful example, suggested that other universities should also consider the possibility of working together in similar formats.

During the business trip to Liepāja, NUACA received another offer of cooperation from the University of Applied Sciences, Latvia (EKA).

June 5-9, 2023

Within the framework of the project “Development of a flexible, innovative and practical framework for Work-based Learning in higher education of Armenia and Russia” (Erasmus+ FlexWBL) the delegation of European partners is in Yerevan from June 5 to 9th, 2023. The delegation includes representatives of partner universities of the project consortium (Latvia Liepaja University and Lithuania Klaipeda University) (5 people, including the project’s international coordinator Patriks Morevs) and external auditors (2 people).

The work of the delegation was carried out according to the planned Agenda: on June 6th at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (hereinafter NUACA), on June 7th – at the Brusov State University, on June 8th – at the Gavar State University.

On June 6th the first session of the meeting was held at the NUACA, where the vice-rector for educational affairs of the NUACA, Mr. Robert Sukiasyan, the representative of the National Erasmus+ program office, Mrs. Edith Soghomonyan, the international coordinator of the FlexWBL project, Mr. Patriks Morevs have provided the welcome speech. Representatives of European and Armenian partner universities presented the experience of their universities in organizing work-based learning. Mrs. Irina Vanyan, coordinator of the work of the FlexWBL project NUACA team, presented the experience of the university in the process of WBL framework establishment. The second session of the meeting took place at the Brusov State University, where I. Vanyan presented the results of the FlexWBL project implementation, as well as the results of surveys conducted among construction organizations.

Erasmus+ FlexWBL նախագծի շրջանակում փետրվարի 20-ից 24-ը Ավստրիայի Լինց քաղաքի Դիոցեզեի անվան կրթության մասնավոր համալսարանական քոլեջում տեղի ունեցավ բուհում աշխատանքի վրա հիմնված ուսումնառության ներդրման քաղաքականության մշակման հարցերին նվիրված 5-օրյա աշխատաժողով։ Ճարտարապետության և շինարարության Հայաստանի ազգային համալսարանից աշխատաժողովին մասնակցում էին Էկոնոմիկայի, իրավունքի և կառավարման ամբիոնի վարիչ Տաթևիկ Եդոյանը, Կրթական ծրագրերի բաժնի ղեկավար Սիրանուշ Էգնատոսյանը,  Ռազմավարական պլանավորման և որակի ապահովման բաժնի գլխավոր մասնագետ Անի Հակոբյանը, Լեզուների կենտրոնի ղեկավար Սիրանուշ Հովհաննիսյանը։

Աշխատաժողովի մեկնարկային նիստում Սիրանուշ Հովհաննիսյանը ներկայացրեց ՃՇՀԱՀ-ի կազմակերպչական կառուցվածքին, կառավարմանը, կրթական ծրագրերին, ուսանողներին, պրոֆեսորադասախոսական կազմին վերաբերող տեղեկատվությունը։  Աշխատաժողովի ընթացքում ներկայացվեց և քննարկվեց Erasmus+ FlexWBL նախագծի ներկայիս կարգավիճակը։ Նախագծի շրջանակներում ՃՇՀԱՀ-ի իրականացված աշխատանքների մասին զեկույցով հանդես եկավ տիկին Տ․Եդոյանը՝ շեշտադրելով համապատասխան կրթական ծրագրերի ուսումնական պլաններում նախատեսվող փոփոխությունների կատարման ընթացքը, ծրագրի վերաբերյալ տեղեկատվության տարածման կարևորությունը, ինչպես նաև կատարվեց գործընկեր կազմակերպությունների՝ Erasmus+ FlexWBL նախագծի իրականացման մեխանիզմների համեմատական վերլուծություն։ Անդրադարձ կատարվեց մշտադիտարկման և որակի բարելավման աշխատանքների, ինչպես նաև ուսումնաօժանդակ նյութերի և գործընկեր կազմակերպությունների հետ համագործակցության ուղիներին առնչվող հարցերին։ Կազմակերպվեց այց Լինցի Արս էլեկտրոնիկա կենտրոն, ինչպես նաև իրականացվեց մշակութային այց Ավստրիայի Զալցբուրգ քաղաք։ 

Նախագծի ղեկավար կազմը քննարկեց և սահմանեց հետագա առցանց և դեմ առ դեմ հանդիպումների ժամանակացույցն ու պահանջվող փաստաթղթերի հանձման վերջնաժամկետները: 

FlexWBL նախագծի համակարգող բուհի՝ Լատվիայի Լիեպայայի համալսարանի կողմից ստացվեց համագործակցության առաջարկ: Տեղեկատվական տեխնոլոգիաների ոլորտում մշակվեց Էրազմուս+ KA107 շարժունության ծրագրի ներկայացման փաթեթ:

Ծրագրի ավարտին կողմերն ընդգծեցին աշխատաժողովի արդյունավետությունն ու հույս հայտնեցին, որ հետագա աշխատաժողովների ընթացքում նախագծի շրջանակներում կատարված աշխատանքների բարեհաջող ընթացքի վերաբերյալ էլ ավելի լայնածավալ քննարկումներ կանցկացվեն:

 Online meeting for discussion of EACEA Comments and Recommendations to the Project Implementation Report

Technical Implementation Report for the Erasmus+ FlexWBL project have been submitted by the project coordinator Liepaja University to the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) on 14 July 2021 that has been approved and qualified as “GOOD”. The online meeting of FlexWBL partner universities’ representatives was held on February 11th of 2022 for the purpose to discuss of EACEA comments and recommendations to the report. The meeting was accompanied by an active discussion of the participants.

Information and Methodological Webinar on Dissemination of FlexWBL project results

The Information and Methodological Webinar on Dissemination of Erasmus+ FlexWBL project results was organized by Tver State University on 31st January-2nd February of 2022. All partner universities’ representatives took part at the Webinar with their presentations on dissemination activities during two past years of the project. Besides they presented the common situation regarding equipment purchase and installation. The main principles of WBL use have been presented by Faculty staff and students of the universities. The challenges for the WBL conception using at the universities that is raised because the pandemic situation have been discussed.  On behalf of the NUACA, Irina Vanyan presented the activities implemented by the university to disseminate the main results of FlexWBL project. Also the process of installation of equipment purchased by the NUACA within the FlexWBL project have been presented by I.Vanyan via the appropriate photo presentation.

Online meeting of Steering Committee of Erasmus+ FlexWBL project

The regular online meeting of Steering Committee was held within the Erasmus+ FlexWBL project on 21st January of 2022. The partner universities representatives reported on the project progress in their universities. Also the progress of equipment purchase and its installation have been presented by the partner universities. FlexWBL project NUACA coordinator Varazdat Hovhannisyan noted that the equipment is already received and the installation process is in a progress. Academic component coordinator Irina Vanyan noted that the curriculum with the WBL principles will be piloted in 2022 if an appropriate number of students will apply to the study program

Online workshop within the WP2

The transnational 3-day online workshop launched within the WP2 package of the FlexWBL Erasmus+ project on November 29th  of 2021 where all partner universities presented their State of planning process for FlexWBL. The NUACA FlexWBL team took part there. The participants had an exclusive opportunity to make a virtual visit to the Study Center of Klaipeda University.

The local online meeting was initiated by Bryusov State University within FlexWBL Erasmus+ project on 15th September of 2021. The organizational issues regarding work package WP2 and equipment purchase have been discussed at the meeting. NUACA and Gavar State University project staff coordinators took part at the meeting.

Regular online meeting

The regular online meeting has been organized within the FlexWBL Erasmus+ project on 26th May of 2021. The progress of the project in each partner university, as well as the next steps have been discussed during the meeting. The NUACA representative Irina Vanyan presented the activities that have been done within the project till the moment, particularly three documents have been drafted by the NUACA project team to apply the WBL principals in the study programs of the university that are discussed currently by the university academic and administrative staff.

International Conference on “Problems of Socio-Economic Systems Management: Theory and Practice”

An online international conference entitled “Problems of Socio-Economic Systems Management: Theory and Practice” organized by Tver State University took place on May 15th of 2021 within the FlexWBL Erasmus+ project. I. Vanyan, holder of PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Chair of Economics, Law and Management of the NUACA, participated in the conference with the presentation on “Possibilities of Applying Work-Based Learning (WBL) Principles at the University”.

3-day online Workshop

The 3-day online Workshop has been launched within the FlexWBL Erasmus+ project funded by the European Committee on April 28th of 2021 where the project partner universities and organizations took part. The EU partners shared the presentations on operationization of the work-based learning principles. The numerous issues have been discussed by the participants within the small groups divided randomly.
