RE-GRAD

On January 1, 2024, “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova (Erasmus+ RE-GRAD)” Erasmus+ project funded by the European Union was launched. The three-year Project is coordinated by the Technical University of Moldova.

RE-GRAD Project is aimed at the necessary reforms of undergraduate studies carried out at universities, in which “Green” and “Sustainable” development policies are significant. The Project aims to support the reforms of the undergraduate educational programmes of Armenia and Moldova, due to which it will be possible to make a transition from educational programmes to inclusive, digital and green oriented ones, contributing to sustainable development and increasing the capacities of students in the field of “Green” business.

The Armenian participants of the Project Consortium are the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS) of the Republic of Armenia, National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA), Yerevan State University (YSU), the “Education Policy and Management” NGO.

The Moldovan participants of the Project are Technical University of Moldova (Project Coordinator), Cahul State University, Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of France-Moldova.

The EU partners are University of Sannio (UNISANNIO, Italy), Center for European Studies and Initiatives (CESIE, Italy), University of Strasbourg (UNISTRA, France) and Transilvania University of Brasov (UNTB, Romania).

RE-GRAD Project Workshop at Transilvania University of Brașov

From March 24 to 27, 2026, the Rectorate of Transilvania University of Brașov in Romania hosted a pivotal workshop within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 project, “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova” (RE-GRAD). This international gathering aimed to evaluate the intermediate results of piloting revised academic programmes designed to integrate green technologies and sustainable development principles into higher education curricula in Armenia and Moldova. The workshop served as a critical platform for academic cooperation, allowing partner institutions to share methodological challenges, successes, and pedagogical innovations.

The workshop commenced on March 24 with a comprehensive overview of the project’s current status provided by the project coordinator, Nina Putuntean. A significant portion of the opening day was dedicated to a round table discussion focusing on the methodology and general principles of curriculum revision in the partner countries. During these sessions, Irina Vanyan, Head of the Quality Assurance Department at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA), played a specific role in detailing the progress of the revision process and discussing the opportunities and challenges encountered during implementation. She demonstrated the video tape developed by using AI tools. The day concluded with presentations from Moldovan partners regarding their piloted programmes in Mechanical Engineering and Food Technology.

The second day, March 25, shifted the focus toward the specific academic results achieved by Armenian partner institutions. Staff from NUACA presented the intermediate results of piloting their revised programmes, which are crucial to the country’s infrastructure and environmental management. Anna Karamyan, Head of the Heat, Gas Supply, and Ventilation Chair, and Kristine Sahakyan, Head of the Environment Management, Tourism, and Service Chair, detailed the advancements in the “Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation” programme. Simultaneously, Anush Margaryan, Head of the Engineering Geodesy Chair, presented the results related to the “Geodesy and Cadastre” curriculum. These presentations underscored NUACA’s commitment to modernizing technical education to meet contemporary sustainability standards. The afternoon was dedicated to a technical visit to the Research & Development Institute of UNITBV, providing participants with practical insights into European research infrastructure.

 

 

26 February, 2026, Online Project management meeting of Erasmus+ RE-GRAD project

The Erasmus+ RE-GRAD project consortium held its regular monthly online meeting on 26 February, 2026, with project coordinator Nina Putuntean welcoming all partners and presenting the agenda. The session provided a comprehensive update on the project’s progress, focusing on completed activities and upcoming milestones. Simona LACHE delivered final updates on the upcoming Capacity Building Workshop that to be held in Brașov, Romania. Following this, Nina Putuntean presented a detailed status overview of the project deliverables, confirming that most outputs are on schedule. Cristina Diaconu then guided partners through the necessary reporting documents, specifically regarding staff costs and equipment expenditures. Looking ahead, the consortium discussed organizational activities for the Final Dissemination Conference scheduled for Yerevan in September 2026. The meeting concluded with the scheduling of the next Management Meeting, a brief discussion of other business, and closing remarks that reaffirmed the team’s commitment to the project’s successful completion.

 

May 29, 2025 – Online Project Management Meeting

The regular Online Project Management Meeting was held on May 29, 2025, within the framework of the Erasmus+ “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova” (Erasmus+ RE-GRAD) project. 14 representatives from  Moldova and Armenia, as well as European partner universities/organizations participated in the Meeting. The agenda of the Meeting included the results of the reformed undergraduate programmes, discussion of the final version of the training agenda to be held online on June 2-6, 2025 on the topic of “Green and Digitally Oriented Teaching and Learning” aimed at the development of the capacities of beneficiary universities, issues related to the development of the project progress report and to the launch of the reformed academic programmes, as well as current issues.

 

27 March, 2025, Online Project management meeting

The online project management meeting was held on March 27, 2025 within the framework of the Erasmus+ “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova” (Erasmus+ RE-GRAD) project. The meeting was attended by 18 representatives from Moldova and Armenia, as well as European partner universities/organizations. The agenda of the meeting included the participation of beneficiary universities in the process of developing the interim report of the project, as well as the organization of the process of purchasing additional equipment with the saved funds. The organizational issues of the training on the topic of “Green and Digitally Oriented Teaching and Learning” aimed at the capacity building of beneficiary universities in June of this year were also discussed.

 

30 January, 2025, Online Project management meeting

The online project management meeting took place on January 30th, 2025 in the framework of the Erasmus+ “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova” (Erasmus+ RE-GRAD) Project. The local coordinators and co-coordinators of Moldovan and Armenian, as well as EU partner universities/organizations took part at the meeting. The Agenda of the meeting included beneficiary universities’ report on purchased equipment, review of the second year activity plan, as well as the presentation of the new and updated courses developed by the Armenian and Moldovan universities within the project. V. Hovhannisyan and I. Vanyan have presented the work concerned to the equipment purchase and courses development that was done within the project. 

 

December 2-7, 2024—International Workshop held at the University of Sannio (UNISANNIO), Benevento, Italy

On December 2-7, 2024, within the framework of the WP2 of the Erasmus+ “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova” (Erasmus+ RE-GRAD) project, an international workshop on “Capacity Building Training on Outcomes and Digital Oriented Teaching and Learning” was held at the University of Sannio (Benevento, Italy), the aim of which was to train the staff of partner universities in Moldova and Armenia to integrate teaching and learning methods based on green technologies and digitalization into the academic programmes of higher education institutions. The Workshop was attended by the representatives of the universities and organizations that are members of the Consortium of Erasmus+ RE-GRAD project. NUACA working group (I. Vanyan, A. Martirosyan, A. Karamyan, S. Egnatosyan, K. Sahakyan, A. Margaryan) presented the results of the work carried out within the framework of the WP3. Six lecturers of the Chair of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation, as well as Geodesy and Cadastre participated in the Workshop in an online format.

November 14, 2024 — Online Meeting on Project Management

On November 14, 2024, within the framework of the Erasmus+ “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova” (Erasmus+ RE-GRAD) project, a regular online meeting of the Project was held. 16 representatives of the Consortium participated in the Meeting. During the Meeting, issues related to the status of equipment procurement, the progress of activities being carried out within the framework of WP3 and other issues were discussed.

October 3, 2024, Online Project Management Meeting
The online project management meeting took place on October 3, 2024 within the framework of the Erasmus+ “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova” (Erasmus+ RE-GRAD) Project. Local coordinators and co-coordinators of Moldovan and Armenian partner universities/organizations participated in the Meeting. The participants discussed the agenda of the international workshop to be held on December 2-7, 2024 at University of Sannio (Benevento, Italy). In addition, the activities of the Work Package 3 (Development of Sectoral Qualifications Framework (SQF) and Concept of Education for
Sustainable Development (CESD)) were presented by Mr. Markarov, who is in charge of WP3, on behalf of Yerevan State University, the head of the present package. 

July 25, 2024 – Monthly Meeting of the Erasmus+ RE-GRAD Project Management

On July 25, 2024, the monthly online meeting of the Erasmus+ RE-GRAD Project management was held, which was attended by 13 representatives of universities and organizations that are members of the Project Consortium. During the meeting, a package of training materials developed by European partner universities within the framework of the WP2 was presented, which includes European experience in integrating “Green Technologies and The Sustainable Development Goals” into higher education policies and curricula. The results of the evaluation done by the participants of the workshop held at the University of Strasbourg (France) from July 1 to 6 of the present year were presented.

On July 1-6, 2024, the international workshop on “Policy for Developing Results and Digitally Oriented Academic Programmes” was held at the University of Strasbourg (Strasbourg, France) within the framework of Work Package 2 of the Erasmus+ “Reforming Undergraduate Education for Green and Sustainable Development in Armenia and Moldova” (Erasmus+ RE-GRAD) Project. The aim of the Workshop was to train the staff of partner universities in Moldova and Armenia in order to integrate the principles of green technologies and sustainable development into the academic programmes of higher education institutions.

Representatives of universities and organizations that are members of Erasmus+ RE-GRAD Project Consortium participated in the Workshop.

 

May 2, 2024 – Monthly Meeting of the Erasmus+ RE-GRAD Project Management

On May 2, 2024, the monthly online meeting of the Erasmus+ RE-GRAD Project was held, which was attended by universities and organizations that are members of the Project Consortium. During the meeting, the results of the survey conducted within the framework of the WP1 were discussed. The survey tended to find out how familiar the beneficiary universities of Moldova and Armenia involved in the Project are with the concepts of “green technologies” and “sustainable development”, how willing they are to introduce these concepts into their academic programmes, and a number of other issues. During the meeting, a number of technical and substantive issues related to the workshop to be held at the University of Strasbourg (France) from July 1 to 6 of the present year were also discussed.

28 March, 2024 – Project management monthly meeting of Erasmus+ RE-GRAD

 

The monthly online meeting of the Erasmus+ RE-GRAD project was held on March 28, 2024. The members of the project consortium took part there. During the meeting, a number of technical and substantive issues related to the workshop to be held at the University of Strasbourg (France) in July of this year were discussed.

15-16 February 2024 – The Kick-off meeting of RE-Gard Project at Technical University of Moldova (Moldova, Chisinau)

On 15-16 February 2024, the kick-off meeting of RE-GRAD Project was held in hybrid format at Technical University of Moldova (Moldova, Chisinau). The representatives of Project Consortium member universities from Moldova, Italy, France, Romania took part in the meeting personally, while the representatives from Armenia participated in the hybrid format. Particularly, representatives of Yerevan State University (Mr. A. Markarov) and Armenian Center for Education Policy and Management (Mr. A. Navoyan) participated personally, and the representatives of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (Ms. M. Sargsyan) and National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (Ms. I. Vanyan) took part in an online format.

Ms. I. Vanyan presented the information about NUACA, the activities of Work Package 4 under NUACA supervision, as well as the results and deadlines set by the Project.

January 19, 2024

Erasmus+ RE-GRAD project was launched on January 1, 2024. The pre-launch online meeting of the Project was held on January 19. NUACA is a member of the Project Consortium. Other universities and organizations from Moldova, Romania, France, Italy and Armenia are members of the Consortium. The main objective of the Project is to integrate “Green” and “Sustainable” development policies into undergraduate educational programmes and their outcomes.
