The Korea University was founded in 1905 and is recognized as one of the oldest, largest and highest rated universities in the country. The University has 81 departments in 22 colleges and schools, 23 postgraduate schools, 141 research institutes, 33 subsidiary structures, and medical institutions, including a training hospital. It means that there are more than 1,694 full-time faculty employees, 27,563 Bachelor’s and 9,448 Master’s and Post-graduate students in 2018.

In 2018 As a result of Quacquarelli Symonds’ international ranking of worldwide universities, the University occupied the 86th place. It is in the top 100 best universities in the field of arts, humanities and social sciences, engineering and technology, biology and medicine. In the field of social science and management it is ranked 32nd place, in the field of engineering and technology 48th place and in the field of natural sciences 66th place.

The University of Korea offers master’s and postgraduate degrees in humanities, social, natural sciences and engineering. These programs provide a number of specific and desirable features, high-level involvement among faculty members and prominent students, as well as a wide range of campus environment. Adding and enriching these graduate programs is a set of interdisciplinary units that stimulate intellectual activity and research between subdivisions.

During the turning point in the 21st Century civilization, the Korea University promises to support the discovery of talents that will support the creation of a science-based industry knowledge, representing the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
