WORKSHOP ENTITLED “RESEARCH OF THE TATEV MONASTERY, ADJACENT HISTORICAL AREAS AND SETTLEMENTS”

From March 16 till April 16, a Workshop entitled “Research of the Tatev Monastery, Adjacent Historical Areas and Settlements” will be held with the aim of including it in the UNESCO World Heritage Object nomination. The Workshop is held in cooperation with NUACA, RE-SCHOOL, École de Chaillot, with the support of the 301 Foundation. Specialists and final-year students in Architecture, Art Studies, Historical Science, Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, and Tourism can participate. During the Program, there will be such tasks as collecting and analyzing historical and bibliographic materials, as well as data on the area and objects, delimiting the world heritage object and its buffer zones, determining the composition of the objects included in the boundaries of these areas, determining the universal value of the popularization of the area and the object according to WHO (World Heritage Object) standards, etc. At the end of the Program, the participants will receive a certificate of participation, as well as the ability to perform a comprehensive analysis of the historical area, a methodology for identifying and determining the value characteristics of the area and objects, understanding of the specifics of working with UNESCO World Heritage objects, as well as an opportunity to work with a team of international experts, including from France.

Participation is free of charge. Participants are paid for transportation from Yerevan to Goris and vice versa, as well as for the accommodation and breakfast in a hotel in Goris during the trip. Participation in the first stage of the Seminar is also possible in an online format.
