AUSTRIAN SPACE FORUM ON MARS EXPLORATION

The Austrian Space Forum runs a simulation every other year that simulates a research mission to the planet Mars, for which they choose a country, on the territory of which the flight simulation will take place.

In 2024, the Austrian Space Forum has selected Armenia as the country where they will conduct their analog research mission to Mars (AMADEE-24). Analog research missions provide valuable information to the global space science community and will be used to plan, design, and carry out a real flight to Mars.

The official announcement was made on March 1, 2023, declaring Armenia as the winner of the competition among countries to host the mission. For one month, six analog astronauts must be aboard a specially designed simulated space station.

The courses are scheduled to take place in April and June, and they will be conducted online. To enroll in the courses, interested individuals should send an application in English to mail.training.mars@ncie.am e-mail address. The application should include the applicant’s full name and patronymic, university and faculty name, contact information, and it should be written in a free format.
