DESCRIPTION

The participants of the “Fundamentals of Project Management” course will gain basic knowledge on the behavioral and quantitative issues of project management, will master the methods and tools applied at all the phases of project execution: initiation, planning, implementation, and closing.

The course is designed for:

• project managers,
• job seekers in the field of project management,
• students and all those who want to acquire new knowledge.

SKILLS

•  Participants will gain the high-demand technical, leadership and business management skills of the field,
• will be able to create project planning documents from initiation to closing of the project,
• master the entire project management toolkit, be able to implement project management.

CONTENT

• Initiation of the Project: Examples of projects implemented in organizations, project selection models, the role of the project manager and the organizational structure of the project will be studied. As a result, it will be clearer how to initiate the project. The participants will be able to work out the main result of the project – the project charter. 
• Planning of the Project: Participants will learn how to design a comprehensive project management program that introduces the key areas of risk, quality, scope, schedule, costs, timing, resources, and communication. 
• Implementation of the Project: Through practical examples, the participants will get acquainted with the groups of project implementation processes and the corresponding actions, as well as the logical connections between them. The principles of project monitoring and control, including the analysis of the value created by the project and project report will be presented. Participants will learn what actions the project manager can take to control the project progress. 
• Closing of the Project: The processes necessary for the effective closing of the project will be studied.

TRAINERS

The course will be conducted by lecturers certified by the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation of Rutgers University, New Jersey, who have many years of pedagogical experience and have managed a number of projects.

OTHER INFORMATION

• Teaching will be carried out by Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology. 
• The language of instruction is Armenian with the introduction of English equivalents of the necessary terms.
• Students and staff of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia can participate in the course with a 15% discount.
