The laboratory of Geodesy, renovated and equipped with the latest technology, is now open for students and project works. The laboratory has been equipped with a mapping, geodetic drone and a 3D laser scanner, still unique in Armenia.
It is possible to create digital terrain models, 3D images and orthophotos using the drone. The equipment has high productivity and conducts geodetic surveys with high quality and perfect accuracy. As an educational tool, the equipment will be used both in the University and in all the project works in which the University will participate.
The 3D laser scanner of geodetic purpose enables the creation of three-dimensional models of objects. The scanner enables measurements up to 1 million points with high accuracy in 1 second with a radius of 320 meters. The equipment is widely used in architectural works for the restoration of monuments and the creation of three-dimensional models of important objects.
Both equipment are produced by a world-renowned American company and provide quality in line with current measurement and mapping requirements.
