NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and the Bilingual Drama Studio are jointly conducting a series of events entitled “At the Crossroads of the Arts”.

On April 12, the opening of the exhibition of paintings dedicated to the artists of the Bilingual Drama Studio will take place which will be followed by the spatial performance “In Anticipation of Happy Days” on April 13. The staging was carried out based on the plays of Samuel Beckett, with the participation of the artists of the 2nd edition of the Studio and directed by Michel Bernard, a guest director from Belgium.

Since the establishment of Serzh Avetikyan’s Bilingual (French-Armenian) Drama Studio (2021), graduate student of NUACA Faculty of Design Nonna Hovhannisyan has developed a unique and special format typical to her manuscript, which can be defined as the presentation of art through art.

The objective of the Bilingual Drama Studio is to give young actors and directors of Armenia an opportunity to train with famous artists from France. The Studio operates in Yerevan and Gyumri.

For almost two years, Nonna Hovhannisyan created her digital works in the Studio. As a result, about 50 works were born, through which the working environment of this Studio, the artists and the participating young actors are presented in a unique way. It should be noted that Nonna’s paintings dedicated to the Drama Studio were also featured in various international periodicals and received positive feedback.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on April 12 at 2:00 p.m., and a closed viewing of the “In Anticipation of Happy Days” spatial performance will be held on April 13 at 4:00 p.m.. The events will take place in NUACA Exhibition Hall on the 2nd floor.
