Transport routes – automobile roads and railways are being considered the blood vessels of every country’s economy, which largely determine the level of effective cooperation among different sectors of the economy. The task of the transport sector specialists is to accommodate more efficient passenger and freight transportation within the frames of optimal investment volumes. The main prerequisites for the proper functioning of transport routes are accurate design, construction, and maintenance of commonly encountered infrastructures such as bridges, piers, overpasses, and tunnels. 

As the terrain of Armenia is mostly mountainous, it requires to build plenty of transport infrastructures. It is a huge responsibility for transport engineers, which makes their role significant in the economic development of the country.

The main components of the transport infrastructure system of the country are the airports and their runways, the proper implementation of which greatly determine the air transportation volumes and the level of services offered.

 More than seven decades, the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia trains transport routes/telecommunications engineers, who design and build the essential transport constructions of our country meeting the requirements of any time period. 

The specialists who have studied in the field of transport in our University, currently are successfully working both in our country, carrying considerable responsibility for the survival of the particular field, and abroad, showing necessary professional qualities.
