The active and friendly cooperation between the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and Lyon National School of Architecture has proved once again the fact of its establishment.
On December 3-5 NUACA rector Gagik Galstyan and professor, the head of International Relations Department Vardges Yedoyan have been in France to review the research process of the Lyon national high architectural and engineering schools and to discuss the perspectives for further cooperation.
The fact of our delegation visit to Lyon, first of all, was highlighted by signing of perspective contracts. Three-year bilateral agreement has been signed between the NUACA and LNHAS and tripartite agreement on joint leadership and defense of scientific theses has been signed between NUACA, LNHAS and two Lyon Univetsities; within this cooperation the LNHAS lecturer Susan Monno will direct the earthen architecture scientific thesis on joint leadership and defense of scientific thesis, thus clarifying the necessary steps for this purpose.
During the working visit NUACA rector G.Galstyan and vice-rector V.Yedoyan had meetings with the director of Lyon National School of Architecture Nataly Mejuro, the president of Research and Cooperation Lyuck Busque, the LAURE laboratory and head of magistracy of “Architecture, Form, Transform” Vensan Veshamry and Susan Monno the head of cooperation with Armenia and other employees. Further exchanges of students and lecturers have been discussed; joint seminars and holding international seminars, including the LNHAS’s participation in international conferences, organized by our University initiative and participation on May of 2015 in Venice and on November in Florence. Among the numerous visits the prospective and particular was the hospitality of high architectural and engineering school “Big Studio” in France. Joint program was arranged to work out further research plans within NUACA, LNHAS and “Big Studio”:
Every year, from December 3 to 8 the “Festival of Lights” is celebrated in Lyon, within which our University delegates also attended. They met with the Mayor of Lyon Jerar Colomb and Vice Mayor George Kepenkyan, who introduced cooperation issues between our two universities and thanked them for promoting the cooperation.
