SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH ACTIVITY OF THE NUACA

 

The scientific potential of the University involves 248 scientists, including 53 doctors of sciences, 195 candidates of sciences, 66 professors and 130 associate professors. Doctors of sciences, candidates of sciences, professors and associate professors (39, 63, 35, 30 respectively) are engaged scientific and scientific-technical research. The following projects and research projects are realized in University:

5 research projects realized by basal funding of scientific and scientific-technical activities having fundamental and the most important significance, namely  

 

  1. Investigation, Adjustment, Development of Applicable Proposals and Tasks for the Sustainable Development of the RA Architectural and Construction Complexes by the Regular, Comprehensive Monitoring” (scientific supervisor, doctor of Architecture Yu. Safaryan, started on 08.01.2016, ended on 31.12.2016)
  2. “Maintenance, Development and Perfection of the RA Water System” (scientific supervisor, doctor of technical sciences A. Sarukhanyan, started on 08.01.2016, ended on 31.12.2016),
  3. “Recording the Shifts in the Seismic Interruptions of the Earth Crust and Realization of Geodetic Monitoring by the Application of Super-accurate Devices of Measurement” (scientific supervisor, doctor of technical sciences H. Petrosyan, started on 08.01.2016, ended on 31.12.2016),
  4. “Maintenance and Development of the Science Sector” (scientific supervisor, PhD N. Pirumyan, started on 08.01.2016, ended 31.12.2016),
  5. “Problems of Construction Materials and Technologies’ Modernization in the RA and Proposals for their Solutions” (scientific supervisor, doctor of technical sciences G. Galstyan, started on 08.01.2016, ended on 31.12.2016),
  6. “Regulations for Water Resources Management and Water Systems Operation in the Republic of Mountainous Karabakh” (scientific supervisor, doctor of technical sciences A. Sarukhanyan, started on 08.01.2016, ended on 31.12.2016), A scientific research contract work: 
  7. “Investigation of the Technical State of Geghi Reservoir of the R Syunik Region and Development a of Security Policy” (client: ZANGEZUR COPPER-MOLYBDENUM COMBINE Closed Joint-Stock Company), (scientific supervisor, doctor of technical sciences A. Sarukhanyan, started on 08.01.2016, ended on 31.12.2016).

 

On October 26-28 together with overseas partners the University organized and hosted the 8th international conference on “Modern Problems of Architecture and Construction in partnership with the University of Florence, Technical University of Ostrava, Czestochowa University of Technology, Beijing University of Architecture and Urban Planning, Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Scientific bulletins published in the University (“NUACA Bulletin”- ISSN 1829-4197 and “NUACA Scientific Papers”) are included in the main list of 2016 papers and publications defined by the RA Supreme Qualifying Commission. The brief synopses of these bulletins are briefly published in the “Construction and Architecture” (ISSN 0233-8440) informative and scientific-technical bulletin of the Russian Federation.

The NUACA scientists have been rewarded by the following awards:

The award of the RA President for the contribution in the STEM sphere for the series of scientific articles on ”Theory and Experiment: Binding of Bioactive Compounds with the Nucei Acids” (Karapetyan A.T.), nominee of ”’Efficient Scientific Worker 2016” contest announced by the State Committee of Science (Barseghyan M.G.).

 

The University scholars are awarded with one 2nd class medal of the RA President for the Services Delivered to Motherland,”Anania Shirakatsi” two medals, ”’Movses Khorenatsi” 1 medal, honorary title of the prominent artists, the Russian Federation medal of N.S Streletski, 2 medals of the Polish Czestochowa University of Technology, “Nerses Shnorhali” one medal, 4 medals of the RA Prime Minister, 3 medals of the RA Ministry of Education and Science, 5 medals of Yerevan Mayor.

Doctorate thesis defense is scheduled on 20 December 2016 in the sphere of Construction.

2016 full-time postgraduate admission of the University was on June and part-time admission took place in November. Doctorate placement was not available in 2016.
