Collaboration agreements, programmes

 NUACA cooperates with higher educational institutions in the EU countries (France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, Bulgaria), as well as in the Russian Federation, the United States, the Ukraine and CIS countries, Islamic Republic of Iran, People’s Republic of China and other countries.

 

NUACA carries out reforms in the education system in accordance with the Bologna process. In the frames of  Bologna process NUACA established partnerships with the Royal Technical University of Sweden, University of Bologna, Milan Polytechnic University, Highest Architectural Schools of Strasbourg and Lyon, as well as with the higher educational  institutions of the CIS countries. In the spirit of the Bologna process and above-mentioned collaboration with the partner universities NUACA Master degree students have the opportunity to study at one of the partner universities for an academic year and, maintaining the credits, continue their studies at the NUACA next year or from the following semester.

 

Milan Polytechnic and NUACA jointly organized two-year master classes on  “Conservation and Restoration of the Armenian Cultural Heritage” in 2011-2013. According to the contract signed between the two universities in 2013 one-year master classes were implemented at NUACA on “Architectural Restoration” and “Management of the Construction Site” and the graduates of the courses were awarded a diploma recognized by both universities. Further collaboration with the Milan Polytechnic creates new opportunities for effective international cooperation, particularly for the double diploma and scientific theses joint supervision for the partners’ students defined by the Strategic Plan of NUACA.

 

NUACA diplomas are recognized by many CIS and foreign countries. BA and MA diplomas awarded to the graduates of the NUACA Faculty of Architecture and Design has been officially recognized as equivalent to the French diploma by the Ministry of Culture and Communication of France since 1994. Reassurances take place  regularly and the last one was issued on 14 June, 2011 for 5 years.  

 

NUACA pays special attention to mobility provisions in partnership programs and allocates funds in the terms of promoting exchange programs for faculty and students, each year increasing those subsidies in the budget. NUACA close ties  with overseas partners are also helpful for its fundraising initiatives.

 

Within the framework of intergovernmental agreements (e.g. People’s Republic of China, Syrian Arab Republic) NUACA prepares also alien specialists providing them with scholarships and accommodation. International, sporting and cultural events are also being organized by the means of NUACA funds.

 

SCIENTIFIC-EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

NUACA is actively integrated in European and regional grant programs such as TEMPUS, Erasmus Mundus, Linaeus Palme, DAAD, IREX and others.

 

Since 1996 seven TEMPUS (Trans-European Mobility Programme for University Studies) programs were realized aimed at  renovation and development of curricula and educational programs, modernization of facilities and gadgets and improvement of NUACA administration system. Currently six Tempus programs are in the process of implementation.

Within the framework of the consortium members in  Tempus/Tacis programs NUACA has actively collaborated with the University of Birmingham (UK), University of Dublin (Ireland), Paris National School of Bridges and Roads (France), Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), Royal University of Sweden, Technical University of London (the UK), Italian University of Bologna (Italy), University of Minho  (Portugal), Information Systems Management Institute (Latvia), Sukhumi State University (Georgia), Shota Rustaveli State University (Georgia), Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University (Ukraine).

 

NUACA has training centers equipped with modern gadgets. Joint educational and research projects, international conferences and congresses were organized and implemented. Via Tempus-59338-TEMPUS-1-2009-1-LV-TEMPUS-HESDESPI program social partnerships were increased for the education quality improvement and competitiveness in science was promoted. NUACA is also engaged in Tempus GIDEC project aimed at promotion of sustainable development in Eastern partnership countries by GIS. Up-to-date GIS laboratory equipped with modern surveying appliances is established at NUACA in the frames of the mentioned partnership project.
