Education and trainings

• 1964-1969 Yerevan Polytechnic institute, Departure of architecture and Construction, diploma in  architecture (awarded as one of the holders of 5 best diplomas in architecture of Union of Architects in the USSR).
• 1969 – 1975 Trained at the Moscow Architectural Institute.
• 1971-1974 Post-graduate student of Chair of Architecture of Yerevan Polytechnic University.
• 2004 Professor in Architecture.

Work experience

• 1987-1991Chef Architect, vice director and then director of Institute of Research, Protection and Use of Historical Monuments in the system of Board for Conservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the RA.
• 1996-2000Head of the Department for Preservation of cultural heritage of the city of Yerevan of the Board for Conservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments, RA.
• 2000-2004 Chef expert of the Agency for Conservation of historical and Cultural Monuments at the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs, RA.
• 2004-2013 Head of the Agency for Conservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments at the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs, RA.
• 1991-till present Assistant then Senior lecture at Chair of  Theory of Architecture, Restoration and Reconstruction as Historic Architectural heritage, Fine Art and History,  Department of Architecture at National University of Architecture and Construction in Armenia.

• 2000  Elaboration on the dossier  “Cathedral and Churches of Echmiadzin and the Archaeological Site of Zvartnots” (inscribed in World Heritage list, 2001)
• 2003 Publication of the textbook “ Reconstruction of Architectural monuments” (joint-authors- V. Harutyunyan, G. Nalbandian, awarded as one of the best works of year of Teqeyan Cultural center).
• 2005 Elaboration on the dossier “Gnishikadzor cultural Landscape” for World Heritage List.
• 1974-present Publication of 48 articles on historical-cultural heritage and historical sites in Armenia, 36 republican and 18 international speeches cat the professional and international sessions.
• 1970 Reconstruction and improvement  of the centre of historical city of Echmiadzin.
• 1971  Development of tourism zone of city of Echmiadzin.
• 1972  Preservation project of the historical and archaeological site of Erebouni.
• 1976  Project of evaluation and preservation of cultural heritage of the historical city of Echmiadzin.
• 1980  Regeneration project of cultural heritage of the city of Echmiadzin and the city of  Tsahkadzor (project was awarded the 2^nd  price by the Ministry of Urban Development of the USSR).
• 1982  Project of Reconstruction of  historical village of  Haridj (was awarded as one of the best projects of the year in the USSR).
• 1982-1984  Project of evaluation and preservation of cultural heritage of historical cities of Artik, Talin, Tsakhadzor and Goris.
• 1984  Project of tourism sustainable development in Armenia
• 1989  Project of integrated preservation of historical monuments in Yerevan.
• 1991 Reconstruction of the territory of S. Gevorg and S. Astvatsatsin churches of the city of Artik.
• 1997-2000  Restoration of historical monuments on 17 of Hanrapetutyan street, 21 of Nalbandyan street, and 4 of Abovian street.
• 2006  Project of Rest house in Beach of Sevan  /built in 2007/
